Sirimon – Chogoria Traverse

5 Days, 4 Nights

This 5-day, 4-night Mount Kenya trek combines the Sirimon Route for the ascent with the scenic Chogoria Route for the descent. The trek passes through mountain forests, heather and moorland zones, alpine landscapes, high-altitude tarns, dramatic valleys, waterfalls, and some of the most spectacular scenery on Mount Kenya. The route provides an excellent opportunity to experience the contrasting landscapes on both sides of the mountain while gradually gaining altitude toward Point Lenana (4,985 m), the highest trekking summit on Mount Kenya. The summit attempt takes place early on Day 3, allowing trekkers to reach Point Lenana in time for sunrise before descending along the Chogoria side. All mountain equipment, hiking gear, food, camping supplies, porters, cook, and guide services should be arranged and prepared before entering the park.
