Day

Dar es Salaam to Selous

Your safari begins with a morning flight from Dar es Salaam to Selous. Upon arrival, transfer to your camp and settle in before heading out for your first experience of the Selous wilderness. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari along the Rufiji River. The river provides opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles and a variety of birdlife while experiencing the landscape from the water. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Walking Safari & Boat Safari

Begin the morning with a walking safari, experiencing the wilderness on foot and exploring the surrounding landscape. After returning to camp, enjoy lunch and some time to relax before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Later in the evening, enjoy another boat cruise along the Rufiji River, providing further opportunities to observe hippos, crocodiles and birdlife. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Selous Exploration

Today is dedicated to exploring Selous on a full-day game drive. Travel through different areas of the reserve, exploring its varied landscapes and searching for wildlife. The day’s viewing may include lions, elephants, wild dogs and other species. Enjoy a bush lunch during the day’s exploration before continuing with further game viewing. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Selous to Ruaha

After breakfast, transfer for your flight from Selous to Ruaha. Upon arrival, continue to your accommodation and settle in before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Explore the Ruaha landscape and areas around the Great Ruaha River, searching for wildlife as you begin your experience in Tanzania’s southern wilderness. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Ruaha Game Drives

Spend a full day exploring Ruaha National Park. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives through the park, exploring its varied landscapes and searching for some of the wildlife that makes Ruaha distinctive. The day provides opportunities to encounter wild dogs, elephants and other wildlife while enjoying the park’s remote setting. Return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Ruaha Walking Safari

Start the day with an early morning walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger. Explore the wilderness on foot before returning to camp for breakfast and time to relax. In the afternoon, head out for another game drive through Ruaha. Later, spend time around the river area, taking in the landscape and wildlife activity. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Ruaha Exploration

Continue exploring Ruaha with a full day of game viewing. Travel through different habitats, taking in the park’s distinctive landscapes and baobab trees while searching for predators and other wildlife. Enjoy lunch at the lodge or as a picnic during the day’s activities before continuing with further game viewing. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Fly Camping Experience

Today offers the opportunity to experience Ruaha in a more adventurous way. For guests choosing the optional fly-camping experience, head into the wilderness for a walking safari followed by an evening bush dinner beneath the stars. Alternatively, guests may remain at the standard camp and enjoy the regular safari programme. Spend the night either under the stars as part of the fly-camping experience or at the standard accommodation.

Full Day Ruaha

Enjoy your final full day exploring Ruaha National Park. Take part in morning and afternoon game drives, visiting different areas of the park and continuing the search for wildlife. This is an opportunity to enjoy further photography and take in the remote wilderness before your departure the following day. Return to camp for your final dinner and overnight in Ruaha.
